This assessment approach aims to provide valuable insights into an individual’s academic strengths and needs without a formal diagnosis. It utilizes a brief cognitive screener to quickly gauge cognitive functioning. Complementing this, an in-depth academic evaluation for reading is conducted to thoroughly assess specific reading skills such as phonemic awareness, decoding, fluency, and comprehension. The results from these assessments are designed to guide targeted interventions by identifying specific areas of need. 

At First Coast Evaluation Center, it's important to us that our parents and families are supported not only through our evaluation findings but also at the table in discussions with the schools. For any of our educational based evaluations, we offer full advocacy services where we attend scheduled meetings for IEPs or 504s. The goal is to ensure that families have a clear understanding of services that are available to their child and all options are explored.

An Autism Spectrum Disability Evaluation includes cognitive and academic assessments, behavior and autism-specific checklists, and a play-based evaluation focused on autism. This thorough approach ensures an accurate assessment of autism-related traits and behaviors.

Our Comprehensive Evaluation provides a holistic view of the individual, offering an in-depth assessment to identify or rule out ADHD, anxiety, depression, specific learning disabilities (SLD), and potential co-existing conditions. It includes cognitive and academic assessments, evaluations of executive functioning and adaptive abilities, behavior checklists, and an in-depth interview with the parent or individual, offering a complete understanding of the child's overall development and needs. This comprehensive approach provides a complete understanding of the individual’s mental health, learning needs, and overall development, allowing us to create tailored recommendations for effective support and growth.

Our Comprehensive Developmental Evaluation is designed for children up to age 5, providing a detailed look at early childhood development. This evaluation assesses overall developmental progress, including cognitive, social-emotional, and adaptive skills. It includes a developmental evaluation, behavior checklists, parent interview, and an adaptive profile. This comprehensive approach helps create a full picture of the child’s development, guiding recommendations to support growth and early learning.

A Gifted Evaluation is a comprehensive cognitive assessment designed to identify an individual's strengths and weaknesses. The goal is to provide detailed insights into cognitive abilities to determine giftedness and areas of exceptional skill.

An Independent Educational Evaluation, or IEE, is an assessment conducted by a qualified professional outside of the school system to gain an objective understanding of a child’s learning needs. This type of evaluation can offer a fresh perspective and provide valuable insights to help create the most effective educational plan. Parents often seek this option as an unbiased second opinion after receiving results from their child's school district.

A Specific Learning Disability (SLD) Evaluation identifies learning disabilities like dyslexia, dyscalculia, and dysgraphia. It includes cognitive and academic assessments, an in-depth review of academic history and attendance, and targeted assessments for reading, math, and writing challenges.
